“But as for you, be strong and do not give up for your work will be rewarded.”

 2 Chronicles 15:7

This past year has been full of changes for so many of us. I have had times of not being sure of what my future was going to look like. I started out the year with a very painful left knee. I have asked God several times for healing, but as of this writing I am still dealing with pain. But I also know God will provide and answer in his timing. I have an ultrasound scheduled soon and I trust that will give me some answers.

As you know, I was not able to return to India last year as I had planned. I have been designated as a Christian and this makes things complicated. My traveling companion did not get her visa approved and we felt as a family and board it was not the right time to travel alone. I know now the timing was not right. But it was still hard to stay home. I have been able to be involved with the school via video calls and emails which has kept me in touch with all the growth, building projects and ministry, but not being in person has been very different but still productive.

This year I really feel like God is once again opening the door for me to return to India and the school. During my devotions, this morning God sent me a verse that brought joy to my heart. “But as for you (Carol), be strong and do not give up for your work will be rewarded.”

My granddaughter Emma, who went to India with me 7 years ago is making plans to return with me this year. Her last trip was a life altering experience, it gave her a deep love for India and the students and staff at Grace English School. I am excited for her to see all the changes since the last time she was there in 2018. Please pray for her financial provision and visa approval.

As the school year is coming to a close, we decided to create a regular space in this and upcoming newsletters for our staff to introduce themselves and to share with you what Grace English School means to them. The following is from Sanu Kharel, our Project Manager (principle), who oversees all building projects, budget and purchasing of supplies for the school.

HERE IS HIS NOTE:

ree

In 2003, while working for a family in Dimapur, I would hold Sunday School in my village of Katikati. After several years, the parents in the village asked if I could start a school for the children in the village. In 2007 with the help of the Learning To Hope Ministry, Grace English School was started.

In 2016 the Learning To Hope Board asked me to be Property Manager (Principle). I left my job in Dimapur and began working at Grace English School full time. I oversee all the building projects, purchasing all the school supplies and food for our lunches plus doing all the interaction with the Education Board to get our school certified with the government. We now have grades kindergarten through 8th grade.

I know that God put me here at Grace English School to partake in the ministry of helping children receive an education that will help them succeed in their future and learn more about Jesus and how he can change their future.

God has blessed Grace English School with a wonderful staff and 200 students.

Grace English School has come a long way since 2003 when I was holding Sunday School Classes! Sanu

Thanks Sanu! We deeply appreciate is dedication to the ministry and all he does to keep it running smoothly.

On another note.....

We have all seen what inflation has done to our own budgets the last few years and

India is no exception. We have had major increases in of our school budget as well. We have

added 8th grade this year and we now have 200 students. So of course, books,

uniforms, school supplies and food have all taken a big hit to the budget.

As you know our school is offered completely free to our students. As a board we

have decided to offer a wonderful opportunity to all of you to consider joining

our ministry. We have a new campaign starting March 9th . It's call NEW HOPE FOR 2025. We would be so honored to have you join with us in a monthly gift to help Grace English School meet its budget each month; we could not do any of this without your help
